Adair and the Baby Rabbits
This is a picture of Adair, who is 12 years old, and loves pets! She hopes to be a vetrinarian. This past June our Wire Fox Terrier Louie found a nest of baby rabbits and proudly pranced around the yard. We were able to save two and decided to take them into our home until they could be released. We didn't realize how much work this would be. We got a cage and special formula to feed the baby bunnies. They really loved plain yogurt and spinach. Adair is in 7th grade at Valley View Middle School. She can speak French, she plays the clarinet and goes to gymnastics two days a week.
Charlie and His Big Hog Fish
This is my son Charlie who is 15 years old. He has a big grin because he just got the biggest fish of the trip. He learned how to spear fish when he was ten and has become quite the fisherman of the family. Ever since Charlie was a baby we have taken yearly trips to Scotland Cay, Bahamas which is about a 30 minute boat ride from Marsh Harbor. Through the years we have enjoyed the beautiful beach and clean water. The coral reefs are alive and beautiful. I don't spear fish, but I enjoy time on the boat, snorkeling and cooking lobster and various fish dinners on the grill. Charlie is just starting high school at Edina High School. He is on the soccer team, speaks French fluently and now has decided to learn Japanese.

Labor Day 2008

We got a wake surfing boat this summer and I made a video of some of the fun times we had these past few weekends. There are pictures of us on the boat, getting ready for dinner and Adair playing by the water with our dog Louis. School has started and we closed the cabin on Labor Day. Enjoy watching some of the good times!

Too Much Life?

Did you read Maureen Dowd's column this week titled, "Too Much Life"? It is a good question to ask. Palin does have a lot of responsibilities with five children, one with Down Syndrom who is less than a year, and a teenager who is five months pregnant. Palin admitted that her family has its own problems and I would have to agree. With this amount of responsibility at home, should she accept the job as a VP of the United States? I would say no. I am really disturbed by John McCain's vice presidential pick. Palin does have charisma and charm, but that doesn't make her qualified to be president. John McCain is 73, and should be enjoying his retirement, but that is another blog. McCain has chosen to take on the biggest job in our nation and chosen a woman with very little experience. If McCain dies in office, which is quite possible since his health isn't great, we would have Palin as president. Is this what we want? If you like to read political commentary with a lot of wit, read Maureen's New York Times opinion pieces.
